I. Touching base
It has been quite a while since I last wrote to you, my lovely e-mail
folks. Autumn and winter turned, a presidential election (and subsequent inauguration) passed, and baseball season again commenced (with an appreciative nod to you, my Boston listeners). Have you been well? I am sitting in my new house up in Nederland, CO, looking out the back door, trying to convince my senses that today's foot of snow covering the back deck like soft wedding icing does not indicate Spring's taking the year off in 2005. It has been an adjustment, living at 8240 feet, both in terms of oxygen intake and the delayed sweet return of tender vernal green, but the view of the Indian Peaks Wilderness from where I sit is incomparable and I can't deny this is home.

II. The Reverie Now Available/CD Sale
After a few delays here and there, the new record, The Reverie, is now
available and on sale on the website (www.bethamsel.org/merch.html). A
HUGE thanks to everyone who helped make this record possible. I am so
proud of the thing and so look forward to you being able to hear it!
We're running a little sale on the website right now: Purchase The Reverie and we will include a copy of A Thousand Miles or Kindling for only another $10.00 (your choice). That's two records for only 25 bucks. Plus, if you order it off the website directly, you'll save a stamp!

III. Upcoming Shows on East Coast
A return to the East Coast is long over due and I am very excited to do a few shows in my old neck of the woods in May. The dates are limited, but I'll be back in September for a real record release tour. What can you expect to hear? Everything off the new record and quite a bit off A Thousand Miles as well (I have been neglecting that record for far too long). As I have been home writing this winter, I have been trying out new songs along the way and I do hope you'll come along for the ride.

I hope this finds you and your loved ones as well as ever and reveling in Spring's first blush (eating ice cream, plucking dandelions). Thank you, again, for making it possible for me to do what I love best. I feel very lucky to have such an incredible group of listeners!
